See veins clearly, every time. Missed veins mean repeated needle sticks, painful for patients and frustrating for clinicians. The SciMed SSE07 uses 20 ultra-bright 680 nm German medical-grade LEDs to illuminate peripheral veins through the skin instantly, giving you a clear target on the first attempt. Lightweight, rechargeable, hands-free via Velcro strap, built for busy labs, clinics, phlebotomy, home collections, and dental use.

Why the SSE07

  • Works on all skin tones: 680 nm wavelength penetrates deeper than standard 620-660 nm devices for reliable vein detection across ages, complexions, and body fat percentages
  • Hands-free operation: medical Velcro band fixes the device on the patient's hand or arm; single-operator draws with both hands free for needle work
  • 45-day standby battery: 2,600 mAh built-in rechargeable pack. 48 hours of continuous use. Full recharge in ~150 min via USB-C.
  • Portable and ergonomic: 6.1 oz with battery installed; 24 mm C-shaped illumination area fits comfortably over the vein
  • 1-year US-backed warranty: SciMed Scientific Equipment LLC handles all warranty claims from California

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it really work on darker skin tones?

Yes, that's exactly why we chose 680 nm over the more common 620-660 nm. The longer wavelength penetrates melanin better, giving reliable vein contrast on Fitzpatrick IV-VI skin where cheaper devices fail.

Does it work on obese or edematous patients?

Better than most portable devices, but no near-infrared vein finder sees through several centimeters of tissue. Best on peripheral veins in the hands, forearms, feet, and antecubital fossa.

Is it FDA-regulated?

Vein illumination devices are Class I / general-controls in the US. The SSE07 uses non-emissive visible/near-infrared light and does not require 510(k) clearance. No prescription needed.

How long does one charge last in real use?

48 hours of continuous illumination or ~45 days of standby with occasional use. Most phlebotomy stations recharge weekly.

What's the warranty?

1-year manufacturer warranty backed by SciMed Scientific Equipment LLC (US-based). Damaged-in-shipping units are replaced free.

Can I use it on infants?

Yes, the low-heat LEDs and non-contact operation make it safe for neonatal and pediatric use. Many NICU and pediatric clinics keep one at every station.
