Needle & Syringe Destroyer — Safe Sharps Disposal Cutter
Needle & Syringe Destroyer — Safe Sharps Disposal Cutter
Couldn't load pickup availability
Needle & syringe destroyer for safe sharps disposal in clinics, hospitals, immunization camps, and community health programs. Immediate needle destruction at point of use eliminates needlestick injuries — the single largest occupational safety risk for healthcare workers globally (WHO estimates 3M needlestick injuries per year → ~1,000 HIV / HBV / HCV transmissions). Bench-top electric destroyer melts + cuts hypodermic needles at the hub in seconds. Also enables 20-60% more compact sharps container packing (no whole syringes with attached needles) — dramatic reduction in medical waste volume + biohazard container cost. One unit handles several hundred needles per session. 220V AC. $199 direct — versus $450-$800 for BD Needle Pro / Sharps Terminator / Enviro-Pak branded destroyers.
Why point-of-use needle destruction matters
- Needlestick injuries = single largest occupational biohazard for healthcare workers. Estimated 3 million/year globally. Transmit HIV, HBV, HCV, ~20 other bloodborne pathogens
- Recapping-free workflow — most needlestick injuries happen during needle recapping. Immediate destruction eliminates the recap-then-dispose step
- Reduced waste volume — syringe + needle in safety box takes 20-60% more volume than syringe alone. Point-of-use needle removal → smaller safety boxes → fewer incineration trips → lower cost
- Compliance with WHO safe injection practices — WHO recommends single-use auto-disable syringe + immediate needle destruction in immunization campaigns
- Patient safety in high-volume settings — mass immunization campaigns (COVID, MMR, polio) where thousands of injections occur — needle destroyer prevents needle-reuse contamination
Applications
- Immunization campaigns — polio, MMR, COVID, HPV, influenza (mass vaccination logistics)
- Hospital wards + emergency departments — every med room + treatment area
- Outpatient clinics + primary care — bench-top infection control
- Dental practices — anesthetic + medication injections
- Veterinary clinics — vaccine + injection sharps management
- Blood donation centers — high-volume phlebotomy needle disposal
- Diabetes clinics — insulin pen + syringe destruction
- Community + rural health outreach — reduces safety box logistics burden
- Humanitarian medical NGOs — MSF, ICRC, UN vaccination + trauma programs
- Military field medical — expeditionary + forward operating base infection control

FAQ
Does it work on ALL needles?
Compatible with standard hypodermic needles 18G-30G with metallic hub, insulin syringes, dental needles, butterfly needles. NOT compatible with: all-plastic lancets (no metal to destroy), safety-shielded needles that lock over the needle (mechanically incompatible), or very large-bore biopsy needles (exceed cutter capacity).
How full before emptying?
Internal reservoir holds several hundred hypodermic needle fragments. Empty when full into secondary sharps container per your facility SOP. Reservoir integrity important — replace unit if reservoir damage detected.
Recommended by WHO?
Yes — WHO guidance on safe injection practices recommends immediate needle destruction at point of use as best practice, particularly in immunization campaigns + high-volume settings where whole-syringe disposal is logistically impractical.
110V US variant?
Standard is 220V (international standard for immunization campaigns + low-resource settings). 110V US variant available on request — email us before ordering.
