Is this hot enough for gold + silver fire assay?

Yes. Fire assay cupellation runs at 950-1000°C, well within the 1200°C max rating and comfortable working range. Kanthal elements handle this daily. Assay houses typically use K-type thermocouples for standard work; upgrade to S-type ($300) if you require ±1-2°C precision instead of standard ±3-5°C.

Can I run 1200°C continuously?
