Why double-action vs single-action?
Bone cutters and rongeurs come in two lever geometries. Single-action = one pivot, hand force translates 1:1 to jaws — fine for soft bone (nasal cartilage, pediatric bone, laminectomy trim). Double-action = compound lever with two pivots; hand force translates ~2:1 through the linkage. For dense cortical bone (adult femur, iliac crest, tough rib), double-action is essential — surgeon fatigue drops, cuts complete in one squeeze, jaws stay aligned. Same reason bolt cutters are double-action.

FAQ
What's the difference between a bone cutter, rongeur, and osteotome?
Bone cutter (this tool) = jaws close on bone, shear-cut through. Rongeur = "bites" small chips at a time, used for spine + skull decompression. Osteotome = chisel struck with mallet, used for controlled linear cuts + graft harvesting. Different tools, different surgical roles. This bone cutter is the workhorse for gross division: rib resection, femoral neck, amputation.
Autoclave compatibility?
Full stainless steel — safe for standard autoclave (121-134°C gravity or pre-vac). Follow your facility's SOP. Enzymatic pre-clean recommended immediately after use (dried blood + bone fragments harden in the joint).
How does 7" compare to 8" / 9" cutters?
